i live in arcata and can't make it to the school without running into one of these damned things. they are monsters, and they are a problem. something has to be done

Humboldts are veracious killers, they have claws in their suction cups for gad's sake, these are deadly animals people need to be aware of, on History Channel's Monster Quest a diver was attacked by one, and had he been in normal diving gear wouldnt be alive

it doesn't seem to be about the big one... but that wasn't the armor they had on monsterquest... good question.
there's gonna be a follow up episode this season though!

My father and I went on a humboldt squid dive trip with Scott Cassell. He actually calls the armor stormtrooper armor and he got the idea from star wars. He made the armor himself but now he uses shark chain suits because their much more comfortable and accessable

Ya, he's on a lot of Humbolt documentaries. He bought a customized suit that looks like a stormtrooper. It's actually brand new technology in diving.
