I think you guys have to realize that this guy knows that accusing a girl of fornication is wrong. He knows honor killingis wrong and forbidden, But he is being smart because he knows teh ignorance of the masses. He's a guy that knows his people and knows that they are capable of performing such a stupidity for a dumb reason like the hymen because Islamically there is no realy virginity test. He's just being realistic.

Guys, this is scary, but at least he is trying to protect women from the nutjobs who want to kill them. He is trying to protect them because although none of us would ever consider killing (or even FLOGGING...my goodness) a girl for losing her virginity, unfortunately, there are millions in some parts of the world who WOULD do such a thing, so until things change (which they probably never will) he's trying to prevent the wrongful deaths of millions of innocent girls.

My question is if he is protecting women from being killed for religious or cultural purposes, doesn't that mean he is protecting women from Islam and Islamic culture? So if Islam is a threat to women, why should they look to Islam to protect them?

The problem of Islam is not the teaching, it is in someone like this man who is stating his own cultural beliefs and relating that to a religion , never the Quran ( the holy book) stated that masturbation is forbidden. Islam realize the need of sex for both men and woman and asked for that to be controlled through marriage. before you attack a religion try to know more about it.
