About 3 months I spose. I have the star effect at night but everyone has that. You can easily get paranoid after you have had an op like this. If you think about anything too much you'll go mad! I don't have halo's though.

Thanx for the reply! How long did it take for YOUR eyesight to go back to normal. Do you still see halos around lights at night!!!

I do remember them saying that it can take 3-6months for your eyes and brain to adjust and settle. I would really not worry. I believe that just worrying about stuff makes it worse! Seriously though, give it time and say how you feel at your next clinic app....

Hey Mark:
I just had lasik eye surgery done about 12 days ago and I still see a little hazy. I can see a slight ghost effect Is that normal? Also at night I see halos around lights. How long till all this goes away? Since you've had yours done a while back, do you still have any of these problems? I'm a bit concerned so if you can please reply back I would appreciate it very much.

Thank you so much for this. It's a heck of a lot more helpful than you probably think.
If I were to get the surgery performed on a Friday, do you think I'd be able to return to classes the coming Monday? I'm in university, & I'd rather get it done now than closer to exam time, but I'm looking for a second opinion. How long was it before you were able to return to your normal routine (work/school)?
I finished the free consultation; I just have to figure out the best time for surgery now.

They just told me not to rub my eyes AT ALL!
Closing them was a good idea though. I basically went to bed after my proceedure and slept for 9 hours so the next day all the stinging had gone. And I had to wear those covers at night for a week or two (can't remember how long)

Weren't you told that you ought to have been keeping your eyes shut as much as possible for the first 24 hours so as to give the flap the best chance to heal up? I was surprised to see you in front of the camera just 45 minutes after getting back from surgery, whipping your specs off and opening your eyes... but then maybe that's why they stung so much? |
