FNC's Bill O'Reilly returned to the Late Show Friday night for round two with David Letterman over Iraq. In the show taped on Monday but not aired until Friday, Letterman expressed disgust with the war: "So we've made a mistake in war, so we stay there and kill as many Americans as we possibly can? That's the way you get out of a mistake?" At another point, Letterman fretted: "It's all about oil. That's why we're there. Big deal." When O'Reilly asserted that "it isn't 'We're a bad country, Bush is an evil liar.' That's not true," Letterman retorted that "I didn't say we were a bad country. I didn't say he was an evil liar" and charged: "You're putting words in my mouth just the way you put artificial facts in your head."

Ending tyranny in our world. 1974 -- Dawa Killings 1980 -- Fayli Deportations and Killings 1983 -- Barzani Abductions 1988 -- Al-Anfal Campaign 1988 -- Halabja Gassing 1990s -- Marsh Arabs Devastated 1990 -- Invasion of Kuwait 1991 -- Kurdish and Shiite Rebellions 1999 -- Al-Sadr Assassination Tyranny & Oppression, that's all Iraq has known till now. To leave Saddam in power to murder & maraud could pass muster as a humane foreign policy only in Hollywood. The war is Noble.

The fundamental mission of American foreign policy is to spread democracy throughout the world. "The survival of liberty in our land increasingly depends on the success of liberty in other lands. The best hope for peace in our world is the expansion of freedom in all the world. So it is the policy of the United States to seek and support the growth of democratic movements and institutions in every nation and culture, with the ultimate goal of ending tyranny in our world. I want the US to win

Assuming most civilized free humans are peace loving, I hate war. Hell, the UK doesn't have any guns so they should be a crime free and violentless society. Unfortunatly, war is nessesasry to keep peace. War time brings peace time. The search for a violentless society is our ultimate goal, but it still includes fighting for it because the enemy is not impressed with inspiring discourse or dialogue. The enemy is ruthless, they perceived talking as weakness. Hey, they started it.

While I'm proud to be an American and love my country very much, I don't feel it's right for us (or any country) to force their culture, religious views and form of government on any other country (like we've done in Iraq). I also believe it's wrong for us to get caught in between a war of two countries. We should let countries like Saudi Arabia and Israel fight their own wars. It's not up to us to defend and "police" the entire world.
