Yeah, I realize that, but he states explicitly that the quotient of those two divisions is 0.618034. Just lazy, maybe..? Either way, it makes him look ignorant of simple mathematics.

The numbers don't calculate exactly. The higher up the numbers go, the closer the answer comes to the one he discusses. Even down low they are close but definitely not perfect.

144/233 = 0.618026 55/89 = 0.61798 not the same number, nor are either 0.618034 Did he even try to calculate? sigh.

this isnt evidence for design, its evidence that this universe is deeply intertwined with mathematics, and that spirals (most of those arent fibonacci) are often seen because the universe has many fractal qualities (the same patterns that are energy-favorable on small scales like quantum particles are favorable patterns on large scales--after all both are governed by the same maths)

"Do you see the pattern?". Yeah i see, but instead of just saying it's god or some other magic power, why don't you just find out why. The reason is probably just physics. It's only a matter of time until every religion comes to an end.

Its funny.. as a left brained logical scientific type thinker i always discounted the idea of "God" from an early age, up until my late teens. I still don't buy the Christian idea of "God", but the evidence for intelligence behind reality is beyond overwhelming.. IMHO it is totally undeniable. It is everywhere, literally. We've just lost the eye to see it! Sacred geometry is that evidence. Mathematical and harmonic relationships. Its not "just maths" when nature uses it EVERYWHERE!

It doesn't look special, and it acts like any spiral. Yet the numbers themselves, within their syntax, hold significance. 1.618034... is Divine Proportion, google it :)
