I like Manitas because he is a french gypsy but he is, strictly speaking, more famous as a Rhumba player. Paco Pena is light years ahead of him as a La flammenca Guitarrista. No comparison! Paco de Lucia is Technically the Wizard and the Maestro of Maestro's without a doubt!

anyone know what year this was performed? when pena was younger, his solo albums were fiery and strong. I dont care much for his slower classical style these days, but he is still my favourite flamenco guitarist- its because of his albums that i stared playing.

I saw Paco at UC Irvine in '99ish. He was better and faster. Maybe the best guitarist alive. I don't think you'd get an argument from John Williams. On the Sevilla Tape, as well as others, you can tell Paco is holding back. But let's face it, John Williams is the King of Classic. Both incredible.

Hallo Yel, I agree{excuse for my Englisch} i am from amsterdam {the netherlands}. Manitas is good but Pena{paco} is beter. Paco de Lucia is also good. Stil i like Manitas also because he brought the world to the Gitanes flamenco . with friendly greetings out of Amsterdam
