Evolution is a scientific fact, much like gravity. However, this does not mean that science has disproven God. It simply means that the Bible should not be taken literally. In other words, there was no talking snake. It's just a story meant to express a broader concept. It's the CONCEPT that's most important. Perhaps the process of evolution was God's doing...

Evolution isn't a 'theory' anymore; it is FACT. With all the technology at their disposal, not to mention all the past work on this by scientists from the past, it is proven beyond the shadow of a doubt. We can even see evidence where the legs were on a snake. That is just a tiny example. There are countless proofs for evolution. God, created us so that we would develop and progress through the process of evolution. Now, will everybody just agree and stop arguing; it's getting childish!

It's not a matter of believing in a higher power. One can believe in God and in evolution simultaneously. I've heard it suggested that perhaps evolution is the "how" and God is the "why".

so what's the problem with not believing in evolution, keep in mind that Darwin also believed in a higher power himself

eviltiki13, I think you are on to something! But any theory, is a just a 'theory', scientific or otherwise. Theories get proven wrong and a new theory is born. This means that the 'whole truth' or what Hawking calls: "one theory that would explain everything" is an elusive catch, always one step ahead of the scientists. If evolution is true, and I feel it is, then why couldn't it have been part of God's plan from the start? Rather that a making a 'hole', it justifies and supports God's Word.

Oh god, Mark Pryor. I'm from Arkansas, that is so embarassing, lol. His change in expression at the end made my laugh out loud.

LOL Not in the good old US of A buddy. He probably just won the next election! I'm of course joking but there is some truth to it unfortunatley.

Scientific theories are not the same as your everyday theory. A scientific theory is a hypothesis that has been tested and retested hundreds and hundreds of times. I don't think it would be out of line for me to assume that you believe in the THEORY of gravity or the THEORY of relativity, so why do you dispute the THEORY of evolution. Is it because it puts a a humongous whole in the validity of the bible and the existence of the Judaeo-Christian god?

i think with that last statment the senator pretty much threw away all of his credability

In a nation that has gone antisemite to fuel hatred against Middle Eastern Semitic people, it is laughable for jews like you to speak with bloody hands about 'hate'?
